History of the department

The history of the establishment and development of the department of accounting, analysis and audit begins with the opening of an educational and consulting center (branch) of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy in Donetsk. With the creation on the basis of this branch of Donetsk State University in 1966, the department of accounting and analysis of economic activity was organized as a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Economics. It was headed by candidate of economic sciences, associate professor V. D. Lipchenko, who had rich professional and life experience, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and was awarded many combat awards.

Later, the department was headed by associate professors V.V. Ogurtsov, L.A. Anisimov. The teaching staff consisted of associate professors V.G. Hetman, A.E. Pylypenko, K.Ya. Demin, M.V. Petrenko, T.A. Igumnova.

In 1972-1997, the department was headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine V.G. Hetman, who was rightly considered a leader among those who laid the foundation of economic education at the university.

From 1997 to 2010, the department was managed by Olha Sydyuk, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor, certified auditor, active member (academician) of the Ukrainian Association of Regional Sciences, excellent in education.

Since 2010, the department is headed by Ionin Yevhen, Honored Economist of Ukraine, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Education Excellence in Ukraine, who participated in the implementation of TACIS International Programs, managed a working group of university lecturers, completed internships in Great Britain and Italy in accounting, analysis and financial management.
