The Department of Marketing was founded in 1972, on the first five-year anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Economics of DonNU named after Vasyl Stus.

Marketing is an integral part of any organization and business model. In today’s conditions, when dynamic changes are taking place in the field of information technology, priorities are shifting towards the digital economy, when the variability of the consumer is becoming faster and faster, it is marketing and marketing tools that allow companies to adapt to new market requirements and move business forward. All this determines the fact that the labor market demand for specialists in the field of marketing is consistently high.

The mission of the department is the formation of a highly educated, socially responsible layer of Ukrainian society, which, based on the acquired knowledge, will be competent to carry out professional activities and qualitative transformations in the economy of the state.

The goal is to provide training of highly qualified marketing specialists in accordance with the demands of modern society, competitive on the labor market, possessing innovative thinking, special competencies necessary for effective marketing activities.

Main tasks:

  • personnel support of the educational process at a high level and in accordance with the LU and the criteria of the Regulation on the accreditation of the OP;
  • ensuring the quality and competitiveness of educational programs implemented at the Department of Marketing;
  • development of intellectual capital of the department;
  • development of modern organizational and methodical work;
  • ensuring the participation of participants in the educational process in academic mobility programs;
  • formation of a loyal intra-corporate environment;
  • promoting the development of student self-government;
  • intensification of marketing efforts to create a positive image of the department of marketing among students of higher education and entrants.

Over the years of existence of the specialty and the department, more than 5,500 specialists in the field of logistics, management of material resources and marketing have been trained, including almost 3,000 marketers.

During the 15 years of existence of the post-graduate course at the Department of Marketing, 6 doctors and 28 candidates of economic sciences have been prepared and protected in specialized academic councils.

The Department of Marketing of the Faculty of Economics meets the requirements of Clause 5 of Art. 33 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”.

Today, the department employs 5 full-time teachers who have scientific degrees and academic titles. Two teachers have certificates confirming knowledge of a foreign language at the B2 level.

Today, the contingent of higher education graduates who study under the department’s educational programs is 165 people.

Traditionally, students of the “Marketing” specialty are participants and prize-winners of professional competitions, such as “Black sea science”, “National Festival of Social Advertising”, Olympiads and the Competition of Student Research Papers on Marketing.

The traditional cooperation of the department with educational and scientific institutions continues, new agreements on cooperation are concluded. Employees of the department, together with representatives of other departments of the university, closely cooperate with the Vinnytsia City Council, the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration. Practitioners in the field of marketing and representatives of business structures are involved in training sessions.

History of the department

The department was founded in 1972. This is one of the oldest departments of the Faculty of Economics of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University

Responding to changes taking place in the state and adapting to the needs of society, the name of the department also changed:

o Since 1972 – “Economics and organization of material and technical software”.

o Since 1990 – “Management of material resources and organization of wholesale of means of production”.

o Since 1993 – “Marketing”.

o From 01/07/2022 – “Marketing and business analytics” (unification of the department of marketing and the department of economic and management analytics).

The Department has developed and implements educational programs that comply with the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, Standards of Higher Education in Marketing, and the demands of the modern labor market.

Specialty 075 “Marketing” Educational program “Marketing” (Educational level “Bachelor”).

The program is aimed at training highly qualified marketing specialists in accordance with the demands of modern society, competitiveness in the labor market, and possessing innovative thinking and special competencies necessary for effective marketing activities.

The educational and professional program is aimed at training highly qualified marketing specialists who possess an innovative way of thinking, and professional competencies necessary for the effective management of marketing activities of enterprises and organizations, meet the demands of the labor market and are able to apply the acquired knowledge in scientific studies of problems of the development of marketing theory and practice.

Business economics is one of the youngest and most promising educational programs of modern economic education, a new field of professional activity that is formed at the junction of economics, management and analytics with the active involvement of modern information technologies.
