Department of entrepreneurship, corporate and spatial economics
The Department of Entrepreneurship, Corporate and Spatial Economics of the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University was created in 2017 through the merger of the Department of Enterprise Economics and the Department of Economic Theory and Development and Placement of Productive Forces.
The department positions itself as a structural unit that applies a new philosophy of providing educational services, making the transition from a system of obtaining theoretical knowledge to a competency-based approach based on interdisciplinary training, expanding practical training, and implemented on the basis of innovation with the use of modern teaching tools and technologies.
The purpose of the department’s activity is to train competent and competitive specialists in the field of economics, entrepreneurship and tourism business by a team of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical workers, open to partnerships, capable of solving promising tasks and performing the role of innovators, capable of becoming a center of concentration of innovative, creative, interdisciplinary approaches to the improvement potential opportunities in the field of providing educational services.
The main tasks of the department are:
· providing high-quality educational services in accordance with educational standards and norms that implement the requirements for the content of higher education and the formation of accessible learning conditions for each student;
· implementation of effective educational activities and modernization of the educational process in order to increase the professional competence of university graduates;
· formation of a quality structure of personnel support of the department;
· ensuring innovative development of the department;
· formation at the department of a scientific school and ensuring its recognition in the scientific community;
· creation of opportunities for the expansion of scientific research of the department;
· involvement of gifted master’s graduates in postgraduate studies;
formation of effective forms of partnership with both domestic and foreign educational institutions, government and business structures;
· increasing the international mobility of teachers and students;
· search for opportunities to participate in the implementation of project proposals;
· the use of modern forms and methods of conducting career guidance work, including through the Internet, to attract potential applicants to study in educational programs implemented by the department.
The Department of Entrepreneurship, Corporate and Spatial Economics of the Faculty of Economics meets the requirements of Clause 5 of Art. 33 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”.
To date, 10 full-time teachers work at the department, including 1 person in the position of professor, 9 people in the positions of associate professors.
All teachers of the department have academic titles of professor or associate professor.
According to the results of the rating of activity indicators for 2017, 2018, the department was the best among the departments of economic direction. In 2019-2021, the department is included in TOP-3 departments of the University.
Five teachers of the department (Professor Kozlovsky S.V., Associate Professors I.O. Akhnovska, V.E. Bolgov, Yu.V. Solonenko, O.S. Tregubov) are ranked in the TOP-25, all others are in the HIGH and MIDLE groups.
The teachers of the department occupy the highest positions according to the results of student surveys regarding the quality of teaching.
Eight teachers have certificates that confirm a high level of foreign language proficiency.
The absolute majority of teachers of the department have their own experience in entrepreneurial activity.
Today, the contingent of higher education seekers who study under the educational programs of the department is more than 200 people. Thanks to the university’s colossal work on integration into the local educational space, the active career guidance work of the faculty and teachers of the department, the number of students increases annually.
Traditional cooperation with educational and scientific institutions continues, contracts are concluded with new partners.
Employees of the department, together with representatives of other departments of the university, closely cooperate with the Vinnytsia City Council, the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, participate in a number of projects (School of Young Officials, Integrated Development of the City of Vinnytsia, Tourist Board under the Mayor, etc.).
The department organizes and conducts sufficiently “loud” events for students of higher education throughout the university – meetings with practitioners who work in professional associations of entrepreneurs, in the restaurant and tourism business, in the field of social entrepreneurship, and excursions to interesting enterprises.
Together with other units of the university, namely the Department of Management and Behavioral Economics and the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics, the educational program “Business Economics (business analytics, enterprise economics, personnel management)” is being implemented, with the Department of Management and Behavioral Economics – educational program “Social entrepreneurship”, with the department of political science and public administration – educational program “Public management and state administration” and “Management of post-conflict territories”.
The teachers of the department actively implement innovative forms of work.
Two employees of the department (Inna Akhnovska and Oleksandr Tregubov) have trainers’ certificates and actively use training technologies in the educational process.
Together with the Open Business Academy, the events “I am the Boss Entrepreneur School” and “Tourism Business School” are held.
The lecturers of the department, together with the Donetsk regional employment center, participated in the implementation of retraining courses for the unemployed under the “Enterprise Efficiency Specialist” program.
Employees of the department have experience in participating in grant programs.
The active professional, social and other activities of teachers and employees of the department have been repeatedly recognized with state and departmental awards, as well as certificates and thanks from the university management.

Educational program “Enterprise Economics” (Bachelor’s Degree)
The educational program has always been one of the most demanded by the labor market and promising. We understand the enterprise not only as an industrial enterprise, but also in a broader sense – as an organization that produces products or provides services; that is, it can be trade enterprises, banks, insurance companies, consulting firms, etc.
The professional activity of a bachelor in enterprise economics can be carried out in all spheres of the national economy. It includes planning, analytical and organizational (administrative) activities at enterprises of various forms of ownership, as well as in state administration bodies.
Educational program “Economics of the enterprise” (SO “Master”)
The purpose of the program is to train specialists from higher education at the second (master’s) level in the field of economics, who possess fundamental theoretical and methodological knowledge and practical professional skills in the field of economic management of enterprises and institutions of various forms of ownership.
The master’s degree in the specialty “Enterprise Economics” prepares for socio-economic, organizational and managerial, analytical activities at enterprises of various forms of ownership of all branches of the national economy, in state administration bodies. He can work in research institutions, higher educational institutions of III and IV levels of accreditation as a teacher.

Educational program “Entrepreneurship and trade” (Bachelor’s degree)
The purpose of the program “Entrepreneurship, trade and stock exchange activity” is to train high-level specialists who possess fundamental knowledge and practical skills in entrepreneurship, trade and stock exchange activity, are able to apply them for the purpose of effective management of the enterprise, its economic diagnosis, analyze and evaluate entrepreneurial potential, to develop and substantiate business decisions to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of the enterprise’s functioning, to create a new (own) business.

Educational program “Tourist business” (Bachelor’s degree)
Tourism business is developing at a rapid pace and is therefore a promising type of activity. In addition, work in the field of tourism not only brings money, but also gives moral satisfaction, new knowledge. Our specialists will acquire basic knowledge and skills regarding economic processes and laws of functioning and development of entrepreneurship, tourism business, will be able to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of entrepreneurial activity, evaluate the market situation of tourist services and the results of activities of tourism firms taking into account risks, master modern business, including foreign languages.
Educational program “Innovative entrepreneurship” (Master’s degree)
The goal of the master’s program is to train high-level masters who possess fundamental theoretical and methodological knowledge and practical professional skills in entrepreneurship and enterprise economics and are able to apply them for the purpose of effective enterprise management.
The master’s program involves the training of specialists who are able to carry out economic diagnostics of the enterprise, analysis and evaluation of the use of its potential in achieving goals; are able to carry out a comprehensive economic analysis of the enterprise’s activity in conditions of risk and uncertainty, develop strategies and plans for the enterprise as a whole and its individual units; are able to develop and substantiate business decisions to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of the enterprise’s functioning; exercise control over the efficiency of resource use and the achievement of set tasks; are able to develop business plans for investment projects and justify the investment attractiveness of measures; generate new ideas for the development of business, trade and exchange structures and implement them.
