Scientific schools in the following areas have been established and successfully operate at the departments of the faculty:

Research teams of the departments of the Faculty of Economics conduct research within the research topics:

TRAINING OF SCIENTIFIC STAFF

The faculty is actively training highly qualified scientific personnel – doctors and candidates of economic sciences (doctors of philosophy).

Postgraduate studies are licensed in three specialties:

056 (292) International Economic Relations (Graduate Department – International Economic Relations);
073 Management (Graduate Department – Management and Behavioral Economics)

Specialized Academic Council D 11.051.03 (Chairman of the Council – Doctor of Economics, Prof. Orekhova TV) for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Candidate and Doctor of Economics worked in 2016-2019 in three specialties:

In December 2019, the council was re-registered for a new term with the right to accept dissertations in the following specialties:

As of 01.09. In 2023 in the postgraduate and doctoral studies of the faculty were trained:

2 doctoral students;
58 graduate students.

During the period 2017-2022, the dissertation was defended by 31 graduate students and teachers of the Faculty of Economics, including 4 doctoral dissertations.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

The faculty annually holds scientific events for students:

International Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduate Students and Young Scientists “Management of Socio-Economic Systems: Globalization, Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Economic Growth” (2014-2022);
All-Ukrainian scientific conference of students, graduate students and young scientists “Problems of socio-economic systems in the national and global economy” (2015-2023).

On the basis of the Department of Management and Behavioral Economics in 2014-2019, the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the specialty “Personnel Management and Labor Economics” was held.

Innovations were scientific activities supported by the student government of the faculty:

Intellectual competition of students of the faculty “What? Where? When?”
Intellectual competition of students of the Faculty of Economics “The smartest”.

In May 2019, the faculty became a co-organizer of the international scientific-practical conference “Science, Education, Society: Realities, Challenges, Prospects”, which was held at DonNU named after Vasyl Stus.

In 2021, the faculty held the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Transformation of Socio-Economic Systems in the Context of the Challenges of Global Economic Development”

Researchers of the faculty take an active part in scientific events of various levels both in Ukraine and abroad.

COUNCIL OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS

The Faculty of Young Scientists of the Faculty of Economics has been established and works effectively at the faculty – an organization that unites students, graduate students, young teachers and scientists on a voluntary basis and aims to promote creative self-realization of young scientists in research. The Council consists of young scientists from different departments of the faculty.
