General objectives:

• The research on Regional and cohesion policy in EU
• The development and introduction into the educational process of the interdisciplinary module ‘Balanced territorial development in EU’
• The advancement of a dialogue between the academic community and society, including local, regional, state and European politicians regarding the discussion of the policy and practice of balanced territorial development in EU
• The implementation of the European experience of convergence of territories in the strategies development and programs for the restoration and growth of territories in Ukraine
• The dissemination of knowledge about European territorial cohesion policy among the public (beyond academic and specialized audiences), bringing EU closer to Ukrainian society

Specific objectives of the project:

• The development of the interdisciplinary module ‘Balanced territorial development in EU’, which will include sections (‘Strategy of balanced territorial development in EU countries’, ‘Development of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship as a driver of structural transformations in EU’, ‘European policy of inclusion in territorial development’, ‘Communications in the policy of territorial cohesion’, ‘Sustainable Development and protection of the environment in EU territorial policy’);
• The implementation into the educational process of the developed interdisciplinary module ‘Balanced territorial development in EU’ as a mandatory for students of the master’s educational program ‘Management of post-conflict territories’ and as an optional discipline for students of special master’s programs: ‘Business administration’, ‘Public management and administration’, ‘Social entrepreneurship’ as well as bachelor’s programs in other specialties of DonNU and students of other higher education institutions of Ukraine;
• The implementation of the knowledge gained by students on the balanced territorial development in EU countries in final consulting projects on the development of the territories affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine;
• The dissemination of the results obtained among students of other higher education institutions of Ukraine, civil servants, representatives of local self-government bodies, members of civil society, representatives of education and mass media at the international, national, regional and local levels through scientific consulting in the field of development of territorial development policies, discussions at round tables, speeches in the mass media.
